Moorhead Records Second Season Victory at Montana

Taranaki's Grant Moorhead has recorded his second victory of the current PGA season at the 2005 Montana Canterbury Pro-Am which concluded at the Terrace Downs High Country Resort today.

The 2002 winning Eisenhower squad member equaled the course record of six-under par 66 to turn an overnight three shot deficit into a one shot winning margin. His two round total of seven-under 137 was a shot clear of overnight leader, Canterbury's Tony Christie who carded his second consecutive round of three-under par 69. Mark Sandri, who was in joint overnight lead with Christie faded out of contention recording six bogies through his final nine holes to card a six-over par 78.

Marcus Wheelhouse (Auckland) , rounded out the top-three positions one shot further back by carding a three-under par 69 to complete a 36-hole total of five-under 139.

Moorhead won the 2005 Tip-Top Mangawhai Pro-Am held four weeks ago and is the only multiple winner of the season. He plans to travel to Fiji for three tournaments in June before heading to Australia to compete in some Queensland based Pro-Ams and Von Nida Tour events.

The Montana Canterbury Pro-Am concludes the summer half of the 2005 PGA Order of Merit season. The next scheduled event in 2005 is the OLEX Taranaki Open in September.
